Dilema of Multi tasking

Today morning I just picked up Times Life and was reading Shahid's short and bold interview.I now find him two ambigous saying a lot of things just for the sake of an interview.....well my intention is not to write abt Shahid.....Its some thing else.

As I continued it got boring and more media stated so I switched on my cookie pep to hear the songs of much awaited 'KITES'.The music is quite catchy but parallely reading the article was creating a stress on my mind.

I remember the days when I used to listen to a lot of foreign songs and try to understand the accent and inturn the sentiments hidden in the song.I had a habit of locking down myself in my bedroom and hear the songs on full volume(and no lumination) for an hour or so with no one to break the silence at any time .I used to get so involved in the song that I could easily hear the individual sounds of each and every instrument playing in the songs whichever were to my very liltle knowledge about music. That was the time I started cathing the beats and could also make out the singers of the song.It started getting so well.....that it became a hobby and I used to anxiously wait for all new albums .....It was a game between me and my hobby and my hobby won.I remember hearing Jism's - 'Awarapan Banjarapan' hundreds of times and everytime discovering something new about the MM Kareem/KK's melody.I performed this excercise in the evening when I returned home. After the excercise I felt destressed as if all the pores of my body have sprouted to welcome the loving life again.

But this was not for a long time as I started spending long hours at work.As was I addicted i bought a phone with a 2GB memory card and loaded all the needed stuff.

My 25-35 minute ride to home after work was all that I could give to my hobby.Though I practically performed the task I found the voices and instruments all fading. All that I could hear was the lyrics and sometimes tht two mixed with the traffic horns.I also started listening to songs while working late nights at night and on Sunday's too.I still laugh when I feel I have replaced some of my lifestyle with target oriented tasks, same as on my job.So what I was trying to do today i.e. complete my task of hearing the songs while reading the paper.

Has shortage of time lead us to multi task our lifes? And in turn are we now addicted to this trend?

I took these 3 pics while I was just realxing at the Faculty of fine Arts on last Sunday.......again multi tasking?
